PSG
Paris Saint Germain has dominated French football since Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) bought 87.5% stake in the club. They pretty much bankrolled their way to domestic dominance winning 8 of the last 9 league titles in France. In late 2010s, PSG owners spent money which was not seen in football before. They brought in the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Messi and whole list of other super stars giving them massive contracts with only one goal in mind and that was to win the Champions League. But they failed to do so and owners changed their spending structure and instead stabilise the club by getting rid of expensive players.
Paris Saint Germain 2024/25 Wage Bill:
Few years ago, PSG had the highest wage bill in Europe. Now with Luis Enrique in charge they have decided to get rid of big name players and instead of focus on buying talented youngsters and keeping them on contracts which reflect Ligue 1 financial strains. In 2024/25 season, PSG's Wage bill has already decreased to €220 million and by next season their target is to go below €180 million.
